Green Tomato Salsa Verde

Ingredients

2/3 Green Tomato (large, halved)

2/3 Jalapeno Pepper (roughly chopped)

1/8 White Onion (roughly chopped)

1/16 tsp Sea Salt

2 2/3 tbsps Cilantro (roughly chopped)

Instructions

1. Set your oven to broil and move the rack to the highest position.

2. Place the green tomatoes on a baking sheet. Broil for 2 to 3 minutes on each side, or until charred. Let cool.

3. Remove the core and peel. Transfer to a food processor with the remaining ingredients. Pulse until your desired consistency is reached, adding water if it is too thick. Adjust salt as needed and enjoy!

Notes

Leftovers
Best enjoyed immediately but can be refrigerated in an airtight container for up to four days.

Serving Size
One serving equals approximately 1/2 cup.

More Flavor
Add more jalapeno peppers to make it spicier.

Serve it With
Tortilla chips, roasted vegetables, grilled meat or fish.

No Green Tomatoes
Use tomatillos instead.
